Daytona 24 hours, Saturday 31st January, 1970

Three-time F1 World champion Sir John Arthur "Jack" Brabham, AO, OBE in a Matra MS650 at the 1970 Daytona 24 Hours.
His co-driver was Francois Cevert and the car finished 10th overall. Both this car and the other team Matra car suffered from faulty distributor rotors and they ran out of spares. Around noon on Sunday, the call went out over the PA system asking if anyone had any BMW distributor rotors and if so to bring them to the Matra pits. They specifically wanted BMW 2002 rotors because they were the same as used on the Matra. It doesn't look as if anyone had the spare parts, as both cars were sat in the pits until the last couple of minutes, then fired up and sent out so they could cross the finish line under their own power and be counted as finishing the race.
